The Habilitation Specialist enables children and young people with a vision impairment to live the life they choose by delivering specialist services that enable them to become more mobile and independent.

 

For this role you’ll be working 35 hours per week, worked 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Candidate profile

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Qualified as a Habilitation Specialist – please refer to the qualification criteria within the attached Job Description
  • Post-qualification experience in statutory or voluntary sectors
  • Experience teaching mobility and independence skills to individuals with vision impairment in home, education, or community settings
  • Experience of supporting children and young people (not necessarily vision impairment related)
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role (valid UK driving licence or alternative arrangements)
